When visiting the A361 North Devon Link Road embankment near Sampford Peverell on Tuesday 30 April, I managed to find 3 catepillars of Narrow-Bordered Five-Spot Burnet Moths. They were actually feeding on the plants which there are supposed to prefer: Meadow Vetchling and Red Clover. So it is a promising start for year. Also present, and on the wing, were Small Copper, Small White and Holly Blue butterflies and two small day-flying moths, one of which was probably Small Yellow Underwing.
